About Us


As a research center at National Taiwan Normal University—one of the nation’s major research universities-the Research and Development Center of Physical Education has four core missions: (1) supporting and conducting research on teaching and learning in physical education and sport; (2) acquiring and providing access to archival materials in the fields of physical education and sport; (3) constructing and validating evaluation rubrics for physical education and sport; and (4) serving as a resource center for physical education teachers and underserved students.

Established in 1992, the Research and Development Center of Physical Education at NTNU has devoted to the advancement of physical education, including supporting a recent expansion of research lines regarding topics of adaptive sport, competitive sport, leisure and recreational sport, sport culture, sport science, and industrial development. In addition to the core missions, the center specifically aims to promote the development of sport and leisure policy, data digitalization, teaching strategy innovations, sport participation of disadvantaged populations, and international exchange.

The Research and Development Center of Physical Education at NTNU endeavors to enable the progression of physical education, sport, and leisure by pursuing new knowledge and sharing resources with the world. Teachers, students, the public, governmental agencies and relevant organizations will keep deriving benefits from the work of the Research and Development Center of Physical Education at NTNU."
